Scuba Diving
Vacationers looking for an underwater adventure can explore the waters of the Bahamas with scuba diving. Several of the islands offer guided scuba diving tours. From deep sea diving to the more extreme shark dives, scuba divers will be left breathless when their dive is over. You must have prior scuba diving training or, if you’re a beginner, you can take lessons from the locals.
If you are an experienced diver and are planning a trip to the Bahamas solely for scuba diving, then do some research on the internet to find the best spots that will suit your diving needs. View our suggestions before going online to check out more diving sites.
Bahamas Andros Barrier Reef – Andros Island: Enjoy exploring the depths of the third longest reef in the world. Over 60 different dive sites are offered for visitors. Expert divers will speak with each person to best decide which diving experience is best for them. Boats go out twice daily and visit three different sites. Depths range from 15-foot shallow reef dives to as low as a 90-foot wall or cavern dives.
Vacationers can also choose to go on “wreck dives.” Divers will go down 60-70 feet where they will view The Barge; an aircraft that has been underwater for approximately 30 years.
Stuart Coves – Nassau: For experienced divers you can go on a shark adventure or go wall flying for an extreme adventure. When going wall flying, divers can soar along the Tongue-of-the-Ocean walls or even take control of Apollo underwater scooter. Dives are also available for beginners so check with the experts at which dive would be right for you.
Scuba Bimini Dive Resort – Bimini: Enjoy your diving experience at Scuba Bimini Diver Resort where the atmosphere is very laid back. The marine life and diving experience are astonishing. A dive shop and diving boats are all included in the self contained diving destination including a hotel. Everything is at your feet for your diving pleasure. |
