Snorkeling

Strap on your flippers, put on your mask, and don’t forget your breathing device for a beautiful swim in the ocean.  If you want to venture a little further out into the water but don’t feel comfortable with the idea of scuba diving then snorkeling is for you.  You’ll be able to view the vast amount of coral and may even be able to see fish swimming around you.

Before heading out into the water, you’ll be given directions by one of the locals on how you should go about your snorkeling adventure.  You may be told to stay clear of certain areas so make sure you do so.  The snorkeling experts want to keep all swimmers safe.  Heed their advice and enjoy a wonderful day of exploring the waters.

Sea Island Adventures – Nassau: Enjoy a 3 ½ hour beach/snorkeling excursion at Sea Island Adventures. For $35 snorklers will receive a guided tour of the coral reefs, snorkeling equipment and instructions, a chance to feed the fish and use of kayaks, paddle boats, inner tubes, chaise lounges and hammocks. A gift shop and food facilities are also available for a full day adventure.

Old Bahama Bay – Grand Bahama Island: Known as “virgin territory” because of its clean reefs, Old Bahama Bay has become a favorite site for snorkeling among visitors. Seven snorkel trails within one mile of the shore will keep swimmers in the water for hours.

Ocean Pearl Resort & Club – Grand Bahama Island: If you’re looking to be on a secluded beach for your snorkeling adventure then head to Ocean Pearl Resort & Club. View the coral and fish how they should be seen in their natural habitat.

Paradise Cove – Grand Bahama Island: Snorkel for a few hours during the day and then lay out on the beach at Paradise Cove. Visitors will revel in the beauty of the beach that surrounds them while they are out snorkeling. Deadman’s Reef is a direct access from Paradise Cove.
